The Perfect One Week Costa Rica Itinerary
Costa Rica looks rather small on a map, but it is packed full of amazing things to do and see. While one week is definitely not enough to explore the whole country, you can still get an authentic Costa Rica experience that includes nature, adventure, and the national spirit of “pura vida” (pure life).
Day 1 in Costa Rica
After arriving on the beautiful Pacific Coast, it’s time to unpack and get settled in. After admiring the stunning view, it’s time for your first surfing lesson!
Don’t worry, even if you’ve never set foot on a surfboard in your life, the expert coaches of Manuel Antonio Surf School and Camp (MASS) have got you covered. You’ll get plenty of practice and training on dry land before heading out into the water.
Day 2 in Costa Rica
A full day surfing the exclusive beaches, river mouths, and offshore breaks that make Costa Rica a surfing paradise. MASS’s crew of local experts will study the tide, weather, and wind to locate the perfect place to surf.
Day 3 in Costa Rica
Time to head to the nearby Manuel Antonio National Park! This stunning park is one of Costa Rica’s top attractions for good reason. You can enjoy bird watching, canoeing, horseback riding, or participate in a hiking trail to find the park’s secret beaches.
Day 4 in Costa Rica
Now that you’ve got some surfing experience under your belt, it’s time to put your lessons to good use. After constructive feedback from your MASS surf coach, it’s time to ride the waves!
Day 5 in Costa Rica
Time for a day of relaxation and refreshing your spirit. After an intense yoga session on the beach, you can smooth out your tired muscles with a professional massage. After that, it’s time to head to the nearby Nauyacan Waterfalls for a fun day in the jungle.
Day 6 in Costa Rica
You can choose to get in another full day of surfing or take time out to explore the estuaries and pristine coastal waterways of Costa Rica using a stand-up paddle board (SUP). One of the world’s fastest-growing sports, SUP allows you to get up close and personal with nature to create a truly unforgettable experience.
Day 7 in Costa Rica
After saying goodbye to your new-found friends, it’s time to hit the waves one last time before packing up and heading home. Don’t worry, Costa Rica will be here waiting for you!
Manuel Antonio Surf School and Camp (MASS) is Costa Rica’s premier surf school. MASS also organizes activities and tours for visitors wanting to experience an authentic Costa Rica vacation.
